Dennis & I (Holly’s mom & dad) joined Michael & Holly and 2 year-old Shiyrah, and 7 month-old Emeth to check up on 2 of the Children’s Homes that L2W supports.   First Stop   . . . Dhaka, Bangladesh. The house parents, Robert & Shikha are passionately committed and wholeheartedly serving the Lord. They have 5 boys that were previously “street kids” from a local refugee camp. After visiting the refugee camp, we more fully understand the dire need for help, and the hopelessness that these people face, while living as refugees since the civil war ended in 1971. This season we are celebrating the birth of Jesus! BUT if you were living 2,021 years ago would you have celebrated? Would you have known Jesus; the King of kings was born? Not many people knew about this glorious occasion…not many people celebrated the birth of the King of the world. Joseph was in unbelief until an angel appeared to him in a dream…the shepherds didn’t know Jesus was born until angels announced it to them. The Inn Keeper was clueless and turned down the opportunity to host the King of kings! BUT there were three men who figured it out on their own …three wise men. When they met the KING they knew exactly what to do…they bowed down and WORSHIPPED Him! And they brought Him kingly gifts. Would you have rejected Him like the inn keeper, been in unbelief like Joseph, angry and jealous like King Herod? OR would you have known the times…would you have looked for the sign in the sky and traveled hundreds of miles to welcome this small babe born in a man...
