Heaven Come Down

Image
I would like to encourage you!  For many years of my life I did not feel I was living out the life God had for me. I felt trapped and enchained. I felt the sting of death and defeat. I felt I was living in "hell". Where was the joy, peace and abundant life God had promised? I knew there was more to living a victorious life in Christ.  I realized I was choosing "death", especially with the words I spoke and the thoughts I dwelt on. I would speak it over my life. Even though I was not serious, I would still long for death because  life was just too hard . One day I felt the Lord put the Scripture on my heart, "Choose LIFE, not death" (Deut. 30:15-20). From my heart I chose LIFE. That moment I felt a lift in my spirit like a sheet coming off my head. I felt a new peace, a new presence.  I have begun to realize that we can live out the victorious life I always dreamed and hoped for. As I have continued this journey of declaring LIFE, I have fel...

Lord, show us YOUR glory

Image
Greetings in Jesus' Name The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but a matter of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Romans 16). I have prayed many times over the familiar prayer that Elijah prayed,  Lord, show me Your glory.  I thought I was doing “well”, denying my life of pleasure in America and moving to the other side of the world to put my hand to the plow and not look back. Yet, I find myself in a whirlwind as I battle to  see, touch and experience  the fullness of the glory of God and His heavenly kingdom. I have yet to conquer this desire for earthly pleasures that keep me from the fullness of this heavenly glory. Would I be content to live off $2 a day like most of the world that surrounds me? Michael has shared story after story of how he grew up with only his basic needs met: food, water, and a roof over his head. People here are concerned with just that...getting enough food for the day and having a safe pl...

Grace Orphan Home

LIGHT up the darkness Michael and I weaved our way through the red cobble-stoned pathways of the age-old city, Dulikel, situated just 40 km east of Kathmandu. We followed the broken path, passing by a pool of forest green water, decorated with Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction, standing tall with trident in hand and his malevolent serpent draped around his neck. This was a stark reminder of the penetrating darkness that engulfs this land. We had come to this city to visit Michael’s uncle, Pastor Lila, his wife Rina and their 18 children who live with them,  Grace Orphan Home . We arrived with a warm welcome of hugs and smiling faces. What peace filled this happy home! They are truly a light piercing the darkness. Later that evening the sweet voice of children arose by candlelight as they sang the well known hymn in their Nepali tongue, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness…” In the center of the room sat an <--- older lady dressed in a sky-...
