“Behold, I have giving you authority…over all the power of the enemy"

For many years I would feel like I would have to struggle along, one day to the next. Discouragement, sickness, laziness, depression, fear, anxiety, accidents... Before I saw God work, there was always some huge struggle or big discouragement. I began to become afraid of breakthrough because I knew there was going to be some “blood sweating” before I saw any results. Recently, I’ve been touched by the authority we have in Christ over all the power of the enemy.

AUTHORITY

Jesus said, “Behold, I have giving you authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)

If we as “believers” really “believed” this verse, then we would see a massive shift in what we know as Christianity…sadly, most believers are not living out the victorious life that God has for them. Their families are falling apart, their marriage is failing, their children are rebelling, sickness is ruling, or maybe everything seems great but there has been zero spiritual growth in 10 years…the enemy loves that. YET, I believe if we begin to realize the power and authority we have in Christ then we will see the REVOLUTION of not only our lives…but mankind…we will see and experience HEAVEN on earth.

WEAPONS

Not only do we need to know the authority we have in Christ but we need to know our weapons of warfare. One weapon of warfare believers often forget about are the hosts of heaven, the warring angels under Michael the arch angel. These hosts are part of our weapons to go before us, prepare our way, push back darkness and pull down strongholds.

I used to pray that God would send His angels to protect me as I sleep or prepare the way before me, that’s all great…but somehow I never really believed that they were a weapon or that I could command them to go before me to make war and tear down all the strongholds in my family, home, environment and country and they actually would!

In Revelation 12 it talks about Michael who is over the warring angels, “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated…” (Rev. 12:6-11). These warring angels are mighty in battle, John saw this mighty battle and the downfall of Satan and all his angels in the heavens when Jesus triumphed over death at the cross. The Israelites also had these warring angels go before them to help them conquer the Promise Land, “Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared” (Ex. 23:20). We see that the invisible army of the Lord was there to win the victory over Jericho, “When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man was standing before him with his drawn sword in his hand…And he said” I am the commander of the army of the LORD” (Joshua 5:13-14). And just think about the chariots of fire that protected Elisha and his servant from the king of Syria! Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD please open his eyes that he may see.’ So the LORD opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” These are just a few examples of many found in Scripture.

IDENTITY

Before we can release the hosts of heaven to fight for us we need to know who Christ is and who we are. Christ is King of kings, “and the ruler of kings on earth…” and he has “made us kings and priests to God.” (Rev. 1:5-6) Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). There is an unseen world more real that we the human eye can see. It is this world that Jesus rules as rightful King. Under a king are princes, rulers, kings and priests. As sons and daughters of the King that makes us royalty, a king and priest unto our God. What do kings do? They rule and reign. Jesus has already told us that He has given us His authority to rule! “Behold, I have giving you authority…over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:19) We are seated with Him in the heavenly realms far above all rule and authority (Eph. 2:6 & 1:20-21).

There are also evil kings, rulers, principalities and priests in the unseen world. The angel that was assigned to Daniel was hindered by the evil unseen king of Persia until Michael and his warring angels came to fight (Dan. 10), soon after the unseen king of Greece arose to fight them. I can just imagine that now there are present day rulers in our unseen world.

When kings rule and reign they have authority to command their army to make war with the enemy. As royalty and kings, I believe we can command our army, the hosts of heaven to war against the enemy.

THE BLOOD

One last important weapon…the BLOOD. It is Jesus’ blood that gives us the right to cancel the right of the enemy to operate over our life, family, neighborhood and country. Jesus canceled “the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, mailing it the cross. He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him (Col. 2:14-15). John shares how he “heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, ‘…And they have conquered [the accuser] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…’” Jesus blood is a very important weapon that gives us the right to rule with Jesus’ authority and cancel the right that the enemy has to operate in our life.

HOLINESS

Holiness is a weapon…are you living a HOLY life? Begin to choose with your will to walk by the Spirit and not by the flesh. The devil hates holiness…it hurts him and makes him powerless.

As we begin to pray or rather rule and reign as a king and priest unto our God…the victory will by won…we will just have to pick up the pieces.

Jesus, forgive me for every sin I have ever committed, known and unknown. I receive Your blood shed on the cross. Make me holy as you are holy.

Father, right now, I take a prophetic act and speak to any darkness ruling in my life, family and neighborhood, I blind them, unseat them of their power and cancel their right to operate by the blood of Jesus! I command the hosts of heaven to go before me and push back all darkness, tear down all strongholds and begin to bring heaven down to earth in my life, home and environment in Jesus Name.
