Open HEARTS

 As I have written in my previous blog, we are praying for God to touch the people around us.

Luniva (name changed), runs a vegetable shop with her husband and in-laws.  Her young daughter of about 8 years suddenly died last year of an unknown disease. She shared with us how her life was meaningless and she had lost hope. This opened the door for us to pray for her to receive healing and peace in Jesus name. 

 Pray for Luniva's heart and for her and her families salvation. 

 We buy milk from another auntie. Her young daughter of about 5 years was just leaving for the witch doctor to do incantations against her fear of dogs. This also opened the door for us to
share about the peace that ONLY Jesus can bring. 

 Jesus said to ask anything in His name and for His glory and it would be done. John 14:13

 Please take a moment and pray for the people of Nepal: "Father, open up many hearts to believe in Your Name! Release Your peace, truth and love among these people in Jesus Name! Give Your church a spirit of boldness to proclaim the gospel!"

 We have had the opportunity to teach at our church youth group last month and this month. We are challenging the youth to share their faith. Next week we will have a ministry evangelism outreach. Please pray for this event to rock our neighborhood and stir a new passion for the power of the gospel.

We are just three weeks away from coming to America!!! We have moved out of our house are currently staying at our guest house.

April 11-12 Plan distribution of goats, chickens and rice project (I'm sick with a bad cold so pray for me)
April 13-16 Bible classes
April 17 Teach on being "Generous"  / Youth Outreach
April 18, 19, 22 (still planning) Goats and chickens distribution
April 20 Michael's Visa Appointment (we find out if he is approved - 95% sure)
April 21-24 My parents are visiting
April 23 L2W General Assembly
April 25 Remembering the Earthquake one year ago. Final Band Meeting
April 26-29 ? Pack up & leave for USA!

We plan to be in America for 6-9 months. Initially we only wanted to visit America for 2 or so months, but the US Embassy rejected Michael's tourist visa multiple times and told us Michael could only come to America if he became a US citizen. This left us no choice but to apply for citizenship and is the reason why we have to stay in America so long. We are on missionary status citizenship which speeds things up but still we have to stay in America for the required 6-9 months.

We are excited to see friends and family and we see this as a great opportunity to share and extend our ministry to America as YOU are a VITAL part of our work. We could not be living and ministering here in Nepal without your prayers and support. If you or your church would be interested in having us share about our ministry please email holly.liedstrand@gmail.com We plan to travel around America (see schedule below) during these 6-9 months so chances are we will be near YOU at some point :-) Since we are in America for such a short time we will not be able to get jobs. Tentative schedule for America:

May 1st flight out/arrive in Sacramento, CA and drive to my Grandma's house in Penn Valley
May 2-18 Jet lag, Court Marriage, Driver license (Michael has to learn to drive a car), Get health insurance, check out hospitals and birthing clinics :-) Open a bank account, do some shopping and enjoy good American food!!!
May 18/19-June 12 Fly to Washington DC...slowly drive down to Florida stopping to see friends, family along the way and share about our ministry at different churches. 
June 12 Fly back to California...see my sisters and mom who will be staying at my Grandma's house!
June 22nd-June 28th Drive to Montana with my family to attend our cousins wedding
July- Help my sister plan her wedding
July 9-16 Family Reunion
July 16 Julie's wedding!
July 31st Baby girl DUE DATE
August- Recover
September- December: We will be living with my Grandma but we hope (not sure how travel is with a baby) to travel to Colorado, Oregon, up and down the coast of California and possibly to the East Coast to see friends, family and share about our ministry at different churches.

January- Possibly return to Nepal -- As soon as Michael receives his US citizenship we are required to leave the country within 40 days since he has a "missionary status US citizenship)

Earthquake Update

All these girls homes were destroyed  Thank you for all your prayers and support A quick update.  Michael and I have been able to partner with our friends, family and church to bring relief to villages and people who's lives have been turned upside down with this earthquake. Tomorrow morning we are leaving with a team for Ghorka, the center where the earthquake hit and near Michael's childhood village. We will be a part of a team bringing much needed supplies, food, and shelter to people in need.  Please keep us in your prayers, that we release God's love and hope to these people. Uganda

Rudra, our new brother in Christ! It was my first time to Africa.   I was excited to see what God had for us. Before our journey began, we met a Nepali man --> at the airport who was going to Qatar for work.  He looked very normal and gentle-spirited. We began to talk. He was very surprised and happy to find out that my wife was a foreigner. Our conversation went deep and we opened our hearts and thoughts about faith. I shared God’s love and after nearly 45 minutes I asked him, if he’d like to invite Jesus into his life. And he said YES! The story doesn't stop here.   God was taking us on a journey to release His presence and share His goodness in different places from the… Border of Uganda and Congo… Worship before evangelism Praying with this Muslim lady to accept Jesus.
