Bhutan and Darjeeling India


Green, red, orange, the meticulous dragon, painted across the barred gate malevolently welcomed our team of nine at the midnight hour into the Kingdom of Bhutan, the land of the thunder dragon-the Buddhist "protector".

Gates hold power. They are an entry point, a stronghold. The psalmist knew this very well as He cried out in praise, "Open to me the gates of righteousness, that I may enter through them and give thanks to the LORD." (Psalm 118)

These gates glinted with darkness as we entered through. Let us plead Jesus' blood of forgiveness over them & ask Him to save this nation!

Our day had begun early in Darjeeling, India. We finished our undercooked over-easy eggs and chicken sausage, ready for the day-long trip to Bhutan. We stripped off our warm clothes as we weaved down the wintery Himalayan foothills through the pristine tea fields, clouds rolling majestically across the now, hidden white peaks.


"Lord, lead us to those who are ready to hear the gospel and accept You into their life." A continual prayer I pray.

Lila smiled softly and nodded her head. She wanted to ask Jesus to fill her with His Spirit! Michael & I met her while waiting at the Siliguri station for our train to Bhutan. Taking her hands in mine, we prayed for Jesus to take away all her sins & fill her with new life. Let us add our "hallelujah" with the angels of heaven rejoicing in Jesus' power to save!

Pray for <-- (far left) Lila and her family to follow The Lord with all their heart. Pray for her husband who is abroad in Malaysia. She fears his response to Jesus.

"It feels like we are on a holiday!" Michael exclaimed, "The shower is warm!! The bed so soft and even AC!" Bhutan, warmly welcomed us from the "norm" of India and Nepal. We were ready for a good night sleep, as we were preparing for the Gospel & worship concert the next day.

"There are no churches in Bhutan, we have to do everything in hiding" Priscilla said. "We gather in underground churches." Priscilla, a young Bhutanese woman, ministers under pastor Rupuk Tamang to the people of Thimphu, Bhutan's capital.

Later that evening the youth of Bhutan and Indo-Bhutan came together in worship & dance. Many Hindus curiously entered the premises to listen.



Lord, touch the hearts of these people with Your love!

I believe, God did and is continuing to reveal Himself.

Darjeeling


 "We're gonna paint this big old town red, with the blood of Jesus", -Delirious HRC (the band that Michael is a part of) sang out.

Nearly a thousand people gathered for this all-day worship concert in the public square of Darjeeling, India. Over 15 churches came together in worship and united to share the gospel at the heart of their city.

Bibles, tracks & prayer cards were handed out as hundreds of people-Hindus, Buddhists, monks & tourists-walked by. Nearly a thousand prayer cards- were distributed & collected by the end of the day. An evangelism team has begun to follow up with these prayer cards-calling people to pray, share the gospel, and disciple those in need of prayer & those who accepted Christ.

Praise The Lord for His faithfulness!

Uganda

Rudra, our new brother in Christ! It was my first time to Africa.   I was excited to see what God had for us. Before our journey began, we met a Nepali man --> at the airport who was going to Qatar for work.  He looked very normal and gentle-spirited. We began to talk. He was very surprised and happy to find out that my wife was a foreigner. Our conversation went deep and we opened our hearts and thoughts about faith. I shared God’s love and after nearly 45 minutes I asked him, if he’d like to invite Jesus into his life. And he said YES!
